South Ari Atoll is the only designated whale shark marine park in the Maldives, making it the most reliable place in the country to encounter these animals. Currents run mild, visibility holds around 20 metres, and water temperature sits between 27 and 30 °C, meaning a 3 mm wetsuit is comfortable for most divers.
