About this spot
Cabo Pulmo became a no-take marine reserve in 1995. By 2009, reef fish biomass had increased 460% — the most successful marine recovery ever measured. Today divers see tornado-like schools of bigeye trevally (jack tornadoes), Pacific groupers, parrotfish, hawksbill turtles, and bull sharks (winter). Modest visibility but the sheer life density is unmatched. Small village, no luxury infrastructure.
