About this spot
Manta Sandy is a sandy plateau in Dampier Strait, Raja Ampat, with two coral knolls that serve as cleaning stations for reef mantas. Divers sit behind a marked line at 15-18m and wait — mantas approach the knolls, sometimes a dozen at a time, hover for cleaning, and circle around. Common to spend a full hour on one tank watching them. Currents can change quickly. Liveaboard or homestay access.
