About this spot

At the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, the Ras Mohammed National Park encompasses Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef. Walls plunge from the surface to over 800m. Strong currents bring schooling barracuda, jacks, tuna, and the occasional grey reef shark patrol. Yolanda Reef holds the scattered cargo of the freighter MS Jolanda — bathtubs, toilets, BMWs, all on a sand bottom at 18-22m. The dive is typically a drift from Shark to Yolanda, taking 50-60 minutes. Liveaboards from Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada visit weekly.
