About this spot
La Ventana is a small fishing village 45 minutes south of La Paz on the Sea of Cortés. From November through March, El Norte (north wind) blows reliably 18-25 knots daily, peaking in the afternoon. Water is butter-smooth in the lee of Cerralvo Island. Half-dozen schools and a growing kite community make this Mexico's biggest winter kite destination. Pair with whale shark snorkel tours in nearby La Paz (Oct-Apr).
