About this spot

Shark Point delivers consistent shark sightings in the Maldives, making it a standout destination for divers seeking pelagic action. The site draws both reef sharks and larger species, offering reliable encounters throughout the year. Water conditions remain relatively stable, supporting healthy marine populations across multiple depth zones. The dive site sits outside a marine protected area, which means standard Maldivian diving regulations apply. Visibility and depth vary by season and specific mooring, so check conditions with local operators before booking. Twelve documented species observations confirm the site's biodiversity, ranging from reef residents to visiting predators. Three community-contributed videos provide real footage of conditions and marine life. Current coral bleaching monitoring suggests the area warrants attention—confirm latest reef status with your operator. Year-round accessibility makes Shark Point flexible for travel planning, though seasonal swells and currents can shift dive difficulty.

  • Hi, great video. Excellent camera work and amazing wildlife. Good job. Also, thanks, you just saved me a trip to the Maldives. My wife saw this and said, ‘no way I’m going there” :) well, at least the shark dive portion. Quite the contrast with the safeties put in place at Beqa Lagoon Resort in Fiji for their shark dives. Thanks again, well done.
