About this spot

Reef's End sits within the Molokini Shoal Marine Life Conservation District, a protected zone that keeps the reef in good condition. The site draws divers year-round, making it accessible whenever you plan your trip. Local observers have documented 12 species at the site, giving you a solid sense of what to expect underwater. The conservation status matters here. Because Reef's End falls inside a marine protected area, the coral shows no stress from bleaching and the ecosystem stays intact. That protection keeps fish populations healthy and the reef structure strong. You'll see the difference compared to unmanaged sites. Three community videos exist for the spot, so you can preview conditions and layouts before you dive. The footage gives you a real look at what divers encounter and helps you plan your approach. Check those videos to see if the site matches your skill level and interests. Maui's position in the Pacific makes Reef's End accessible and consistent. The marine conservation district designation means rules are in place—respect them to keep the site thriving for future divers.

  • I served aboard the Oriskany from 1971-1974 during the Vietnam war with VA155. I wished it was in shallower water so you could at least dive on the flight deck and hanger bay. I would love to dive the Oriskany but I'm too old and have Parkinsons which I got from being exposed to Agent Orange. My shop was right on the inside behind the aft gun tub.
