About this spot

Deep Rock sits in Indonesia's dive roster as a year-round destination, meaning you can plan a trip without seasonal timing constraints. The site has drawn enough diver attention to log 12 species observations, giving you a solid baseline of what lives there. Three community videos document the conditions and marine life, so you can preview the dive before booking. The site is not inside a marine protected area, which means access is straightforward—no permit haggling or restricted hours. Coral bleaching remains a monitoring concern, as it is across much of Indonesia's reef network, so checking recent conditions before travel makes sense. Deep Rock lacks published depth and difficulty ratings, which is typical for smaller or emerging dive destinations. Water temperature and average visibility data aren't yet catalogued. This information gap is common for spots outside major resort circuits. Local operators and recent diver reports—including those three community videos—are your best sources for current conditions and gear planning. If you're comfortable with moderate research and flexible expectations, Deep Rock offers the appeal of a less-crowded Indonesian site with enough documented activity to suggest reliable diving.

  • Another epic adventure with you, dear Sam! Reaching Wayag is something no one can stay indifferent to — it's hands down the most breathtaking and remote place I’ve seen in all my expeditions across Indonesia. Our next expedition to Wayag aboard Jakare is set for April 2026 — only 4 spots left! And let’s not compare Misool and Wayag… they’re both must-sees, each in their own magical way. If you enj

  • Hopefully Raja Ampat remains a hidden gem and will be spared forever from mass tourims. I saw in Maldives how this affects the ecosystem where careless tourists walk on the coral canopy, break off the corals with their fins, touch and collect everything and 20 speedboats chase manta rays to drop of 200 tourists in life jackets. Seeing you diving with your arms crossed I know you are a professiona
