FAQ

When is the best time to surf Blue Trailz?

Blue Trailz works year-round. Costa Rica's Pacific coast gets swell during both the dry season (December–April) and the rainy season (May–November). Dry-season swells tend to be more organized; rainy-season pulses can be larger but less predictable. Check local forecasts to catch your preferred wave size.

What skill level should I be?

Blue Trailz accommodates surfers across experience levels. The lack of reported extreme hazards makes it approachable for intermediate surfers, though wave selection and tide awareness always matter. Watch a few sets before paddling out to gauge conditions.

What will I see in the water?

Costa Rica's Pacific waters host tropical fish, sea turtles, and occasional rays. Twelve species observations have been recorded at or near Blue Trailz. Respect marine life and maintain distance. The Tamarindo River system supports diverse ecosystems upstream.

Do I need permits or special access?

Blue Trailz is not inside a marine protected area, so standard beach access applies. Check current Costa Rican travel and entry requirements before your trip. Local surf guides and shops can advise on land access and any seasonal restrictions.
