About this spot
Sal's main kite beach, just south of Santa Maria, has wind 80% of days November-May, plus a strong summer window for advanced freestyle. The lagoon inside the reef is butter-flat at low tide — perfect for learning and freestyle progression — while the outside reef offers kickers and small waves. Half a dozen schools operate here (Angulo, Mitu Kite School, ION Club), and rentals are cheap by world standards. Water 22-26°C, no wetsuit needed most of the year.
