About this spot
Batu Bolong is a barely visible rock sticking out of the Komodo Strait, with currents that can rip in opposite directions on either side. Walls drop vertically to 70m+ and are paved in soft coral, anemones, and gorgonians. Dives are typically done on the sheltered side — currents permitting — where you'll see hawksbill turtles, white-tip and grey reef sharks, schools of fusiliers and surgeonfish, and frequent pelagic encounters. Visibility 20-30m. The site is so dense with life that experienced divers regularly list it among their top three globally.
