⚠ Coral bleaching: Watch — favorable conditions

About this spot

Tengah sits in Indonesia's diverse marine landscape as an accessible dive spot with year-round conditions. The site supports at least 12 documented species observations, making it a viable choice for divers interested in Indonesian marine biodiversity. Community videos from the site number three, giving you a real-world preview of what to expect underwater. The spot lies outside marine protected areas, which means standard Indonesian diving regulations apply. Current coral bleaching status warrants attention—the site is under watch, a reminder that Indonesia's reefs face ongoing climate stress. This doesn't rule out Tengah, but it suggests checking recent trip reports and local conditions before booking. Access, depth, difficulty, and water temperature specifics require confirmation with local operators. Visibility and seasonal variations can shift, particularly across Indonesia's monsoon patterns. Connect with dive shops operating in the region to get current dive briefings, safety protocols, and equipment requirements specific to your visit. Tengah works as part of a broader Indonesian dive itinerary. The presence of species data and visitor documentation suggests a site with enough character to warrant exploration, particularly if you're already committed to Indonesia's eastern archipelago.

  • I was snorkeling in the Togean islands 30 something years ago. Very few places to stay and almost no foreigners. What a place.

  • Finally someone posted about Togean Islands. I was there in 2019, solo traveling. One of the best experienced in my life. Culture wise, untouched scenery and the corals and wildlife just feels like another world. Im still daydreaming about this experience.
